Robert Bassermann Jr__ "I enjoy connecting my clients with the resources and people that can help them achieve their goals. It is with these connections that allow me to make a positive impact on your business long after the deal closes."
Robert Jr graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2002 after earning an honours degree in philosophy from the University of Western Ontario in 1998. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Law Society of Upper Canada.
In 2010, Robert Jr. joined Bassermann Law Firm, stepping into the practice his father, Robert J. Bassermann Sr., had built with dedication and integrity. However, before joining the family firm, Robert Jr. had already established himself as a skilled attorney, gaining valuable experience working with prestigious law firms in Toronto, Calgary, and Edmonton. His time in these cities allowed him to refine his expertise, develop strategic legal acumen, and build a reputation for excellence.
When Robert Sr. passed away in 2020, Robert Jr. took on the immense responsibility of leading the firm. With a deep respect for his father’s legacy, he worked tirelessly to modernize and expand the firm’s reach, ensuring it remained one of Canada’s most respected legal institutions. Alongside his trusted Associates- Evan G. Clarke, Kathryn W. Tweedie, and Chadwick B. Newcombe—Robert Jr. strengthened the firm’s commitment to client-focused service, innovative legal strategies, and unwavering advocacy.
Under his leadership, Bassermann Law Firm has continued to thrive, adapting to the evolving legal landscape while staying true to the principles that made it great. His dedication, combined with the expertise of his partners, has ensured that Robert Sr.’s vision lives on, making the firm a beacon of excellence in Canadian law.
