Mortgage Refinancing

Most people who own property end up refinancing their real estate. A mortgage refinance occurs when a person either replaces existing financing on their home, or where no mortgage currently sits on title, we place a new mortgage for our client to access the equity in their home. Our clients refinance both at the end of an existing mortgage term, as well as part way through a mortgage term. In those situations, we remind you to check with your lender as to any penalties owing if you end the mortgage term early. We assist both borrowers and lenders when dealing with mortgage financing. Bridge Financing

Our real estate lawyers routinely help clients with their bridge financing. Also called interim financing or a bridge loan, these funds represent equity in a client’s existing home. Those funds then help buy a home before the existing home sale completes. The funds from the sale of the home pay off the bridge loan. When we complete the sale of the home, we pay out the bridge loan from the sale proceeds.
